Apologies for not writing for so long. With a full-time job and busy off days I have been scrambling for time and this has taken a temporary back seat. I will try to be more consistent with this now.

Last time I wrote something, the NBA playoffs were just underway. As of last night, the finals have commenced between the Cavaliers and Warriors. The latter had a much more difficult road to get to the finals by mowing down the pesky Pelicans, then the grand Grizzlies and finally the radical Rockets. The Cavs had smooth sailing through the eastern conference as they beat the under-.500 Celtics, the Bulls and finally sweeping the Hawks. They only lost two games in the playoffs before reaching the finals and finally losing last night in OT 108-100. Kyrie Irving suffered a broken kneecap and is out the remainder of the postseason. With LeBron the only play-maker that the Cavs have now, it will be tough to beat a young team with all sorts of weapons in the form of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Clay Thompson, etc. With that in mind, it is an easy prediction to say that the Warriors will wind up winning the series, and maybe even sweeping it. But we will just have to wait and see. The Cavs sure have there hands full, that's for sure.

In the dramatic world of baseball, the Padres seem to be on an upswing. It was pretty depressing in May due to the lack of hitting and pitching being the cause of us being four games below .500 at one point. With Yonder Alonso coming back and Brandon Morrow and Wil Myers not far behind, however, things could get interesting real fast. We'll just have to wait and see if these "injury prone" players and stay healthy for an entire year (or should we start with just an entire month?). Melvin Upton Jr. will be coming back soon too once he gets in his 50 minor league at-bats with AAA El Paso. How will all these players fit on the roster? It will be difficult to figure out but I think Buddy can figure it out. We might have to say bye-bye to a couple of people. I secretly hope one of them is Gyorko, even though he is being paid like six million bucks this year. All told, we are playing slightly better baseball and look to continue this trend into this road trip to Cincinnati and Atlanta.
Here is the schedule for June. Take a peek at what is ahead and what has already passed!
Other headlines for this week include the Stanley Cup finals. In game one on Wednesday night, the Lightning had a 1-0 lead with 4 minutes left but conceded two Blackhawk goals to relinquish the lead and allow Chicago to take a 1-0 series lead on their home ice. Tomorrow has become almost a must-win for the lightning with the series moving to Chicago after tomorrow night.
In horse racing, American Pharaoh can become the first horse to win the triple crown since 1978. It is a tough feat, obviously. The Belmont stakes look to try this horse as those who raced in the Kentucky derby have been resting to warm up for this one.
The world of sports is always a buzz, so if you wish to have me write about something, feel free to let me know! Have a great week!
