No, this is not goodbye to Les Stroud, the outdoorsman who has his own show on the Discovery Channel. This is saying (potentially) goodbye to Les Miles, LSU head football coach who led the Tigers to a national title and two BCS championship game appearances. Ever since beating Alabama in 2011, the Bayou Bengals have never beaten the Crimson Tide. To compound the matter, Miles' teams have gone 26-17 in that four-year span. That isn't necessarily a bad record, but Tiger fans expect a program like that at Alabama year in and year out. Meanwhile, in more lighter terms, the playoff rankings only have one more full week of games and some shakeup has occurred in the past week. Rankings from 1-4 go as follows: Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma and Iowa. Ohio State fell to Michigan State last week and Notre Dame fell out of the top four event though they beat Boston College. The committee says that their wins were unimpressive versus that of Oklahoma and Iowa. Here are your games of the week.

In the NFL, the Thanksgiving games sure looked delicious. Although I don't think Tony Romo agrees with me. In the Cowboys' loss to the Panthers, Romo again broke his left clavicle (collar bone) after just returning from that very injury last week. So what began with promise, the Cowboys' hopes of a playoff berth were dashed in that very moment. The Panthers, meanwhile, rested on Cam Newton to deliver a victory and make them 11-0 on the year. The Lions destroyed the Eagles 45-14 and then on the nightcap, the Packers fell to the Bears 17-13 in the night the Packers retired Brett Favre's number. Meanwhile, on Sunday, the Chargers fell to the Chiefs 33-3. Philip Rivers said that the team could still quite possibly make it to the playoffs if they won out starting with the Chiefs. Yeah, that's not happening. Too many injuries have plagued this team this year. That seems to be the problem every year. When will this team find players who can stay on the field. Maybe it's Qualcomm stadium! If they get a new stadium, I bet the injuries will decrease even though the stadium structure is no excuse for any injury, unless a concrete slab falls onto the field and crushes someone. In any case, say goodbye to the San Diego Chargers, perhaps for good.

In the MLB, let's take a look at the Padres. They have filled a vital position in the staff: bench coach. It is a familiar name as well. You ever heard of Mark McGwire? You know, the one accused of taking steroids in the mid-90's? Yeah, that guy. I am not going to lie, I am kind of excited to see him in the Padres' dugout. We need a big name to kick the players every once in a while since our bats seem to never do squat at PETCO while opponents seem to do just fine. Andy Green seems to be serious this season and isn't labeling it as a developing season because there is plenty of offseason still remaining. Now that the staff is nearly in place, now it is time to go out and fix our on-field problems. The clock is ticking, A.J. What can you give us the fans besides new and exciting uniforms?

In the world of the National Basketball Association, have you seen what the Golden State Warriors are doing? A new NBA record of 16-0 to start the season has easily put this team as the favorite to win the title...again. The only team I see disrupting the Warriors is the Cleveland Cavaliers. How entertaining would it be to see a finals rematch again just like we saw with Miami and San Antonio from 2013-2014? Now that I think about it, the Spurs could be another team to disrupt the Warriors' title defense. Kawhi Leonard is a freak on the court right now and become a contender to be the NBA MVP. The Warriors aren't the only team with the number 0 in their record. They are joined by the Philadelphia 76ers at 0-16. To make matters worse for them, they have set a 26-game losing streak, another NBA record. C Jahlil Okafor is alleged to have gotten into a street fight in Boston after their loss to the Celtics. Another frustrating year for this team could mean staff shifts. We'll see what the league shows us in the coming months. It is sure to be exciting!
Thank you for reading this week. next week is the preview to the final week of the season in the college football season, since it is championship weekend. Tune in to see all the action!
